Are we vaccinating too much??
Vaccines play an important role in the control of infectious diseases. However, most vaccines do not induce complete protection from infection or disease, nor do they induce the same degree of protection in all pets. Factors affecting a pet’s response to vaccination include age, medical problems, diet, nutrition, interaction with other pets, and the environments in which they live. It is vital that all of the above factors be taken into account whenever vaccinations are considered for a pet. For this reason, a yearly physical examination and vaccine need assessment is considered vital if we are to keep a pet in optimal physical condition.
Your pet is unique. And your pets need for vaccinations is also unique. A vaccine need assessment is an integral part of the annual physical exam offered by Family Pet Clinic. After evaluating your pets age, physical condition, previous vaccination history and lifestyle, we can better determine an individualized vaccination protocol, tailored for you unique pet.
